DPL-248 Allow non-manifest sample import for Cardinal (populate supplier)

Open KatyTaylor opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

User story As a member of the BioResource team, I would like there to be a more automated way of getting Cardinal samples into Sequencescape than by manifest. Part of getting to this situation requires there to be a way to provide the 'supplier' (=collection site) of a sample, not by manifest.

Who are the primary contacts for this story Laura, Katy

Acceptance criteria To be considered successful the solution must allow:

  • [ ] Alter pooling algorithm made in https://github.com/sanger/limber/issues/759 to read the collection site / supplier from the direct sample-supplier link made in https://github.com/sanger/sequencescape/issues/3367, rather than via the manifest.

Dependencies This story is blocked by the following dependencies:

  • https://github.com/sanger/sequencescape/issues/3367

Update from Sameena, 27/05/2022:

From the BioResource point of view, we require ideally DPL-248 but not sure what the resource requirement and dependencies are for this requirement. DPL-247 is a half-way house between current processes and DPL-248, thus would need to discuss what is the best way forward for this.

Closing this as it was made obsolete by https://github.com/sanger/sequencescape/issues/3646 - since the collection site is no longer stored in 'Supplier', but in the 'collected_by' field on Sample Metadata.
