TGN languages
Why use a fixed XML file for TGN languages? (BTW there's no list of "TGN languages": the languages are used across all Getty vocabs. You can use the following queries to get up to date lists from SPARQL:
- full list of languages: http://vocab.getty.edu/queries#Languages_and_ISO_Codes
- languages currently used in Getty vocabs (and thus having assigned lang tag): http://vocab.getty.edu/queries#Language_URLs
(Of course, you can add prefLabelGVP in the query). Cheers!
I think that XML file was added back in 2013, possibly before you had a public endpoint. It's definitely an area that we could improve. Thanks for the feedback.
@geekscruff Can you take a look at this issue and comment on whether or not it still applies? I know there have been changes to the Getty processing since this issue was opened.
@elrayle we have lib/qa/authorities/tgnlang.rb sitting outside of the other getty vocabs which using an xml file, we should definitely look to make this a query to the core getty service.
