Font Not Working on Windows
Hey there. I am trying to switch my default windows emoji font to the IOS emojis. But the font doesn't to seem to be supported by windows.
Hey @404Apollo, unfortunately that’s not supported right now. I do plan to make it work across all systems eventually, but I just don’t have the time right now (at least for the next few months).
If anyone’s interested in jumping in, I’d really appreciate the help!
Haven't tested it out, but I saw an abandoned fork that claims Windows compatibility...maybe the diff of changes would help? https://github.com/samuelngs/apple-emoji-linux/compare/ios-15.4...zhdsmy:apple-emoji:ios-15.4
i used the prebuilt font file attached in that person's repo, renamed it to Segoe UI Emoji using Typograf, and followed these instructions and it kinda worked! when i use the emoji viewer (Win + Period) they show up as apple emojis, albeit a bit pixelated. some things aren't working, like the github reaction emojis, but for me it's not a huge deal. but their fix is at least partially functioning and as of now not crashing my computer, so it would be awesome if this repo was updated too, esp with the latest emojis!
edit: it's not working in firefox at all... but it does somewhat in edge? still looking for a fix
hey guys! anyone made any progress? all the fixes and font versions i found are still buggy. it's 2025... lol

I found this, which might help you switch the default Windows emoji font to IOS emojis. https://github.com/jjjuk/emoji-win
