Clarity on licensing

First off, awesome project. I'm really excited at the idea of such a fantastic piece of software being open source.

Looking though the code, I was trying to understand the licensing situation and it's a little unclear to me. Is part of it under the MIT license and part of it under a different license and if so, what license is that?

While I'm no lawyer, I have worked on helping projects select licenses and make the licensing situation clear. If that's something you'd want assistance with, I'm happy to help.
