Should we add support ploidy number over 2 to bcftools call?

There are 4 or ploidy in some plant, so we need this feature.

Hi, this would be a nice feature to have. Unfortunately, it is not something that could be added easily. One would have to start with mpileup, which currently outputs only likelihoods for diploid genotypes.

There has not been any work done in this respect. Check freebayes instead
