Hey @mdiehm sorry for never writing the docs. installation in an existing cluster is something we haven't tackled for anyone but ourselves and the process is highly dependent upon cluster version, etc.

Are you trying to install in an existing cluster? Have you already tested with our compose and the basic installation?

I actually thought about trying it within my local environment which is build using: https://github.com/elastic/stack-docker/

I run 6.5.1 and was playing with the new data visualizer and the csv import. Some research brought me to conveyor... I work for the university and would love to give our researches a fast and easy way to ingest and visualize their data.

Okay, we will try to update to 6.5.1 today/tomorrow and publish a new version. That way you can test completely using our compose stack and avoid the "advanced installation" for the moment.

@wrathagom The advanced installation instructions would be nice. I have an existing cluster I would like to install to that doesn't use docker at all.
