Bazel 0.5.4 or higher is needed
I got this message while configuring tensorflow: ./configure
You have bazel 0.4.5- (@non-git) installed. Please upgrade your bazel installation to version 0.5.4 or higher to build TensorFlow! Configuration finished
also got this message. Any solutions yet?
I've just compiled the latest Bazel version 0.8. It went ok. Now compiling tensorflow. I downclocked my CPUs, and running all 4 cores, but maybe that was not a good idea. It is running sluggishly. 10 hours and still going. Will update this with results.
Compiled the latest version of tensor flow successfully, using Bazel 0.8
@hummosa I have downloaded the 0.8 zip file into the tf folder and unzipped it. However, ./configure still displays the same message. (I also made sure to delete the 0.4.5 zip) How did you get it to work?
@sto1cLem0n5 After unzipping Bazel 0.8 you have to go through the other editing steps and then compile Bazel using the ./compile.sh command. This takes a while. and then copy the new binary Bazel as described in the step-by-step guide.
@hummosa what are the other editing steps? can you plz explain?
My comment is only relevant if you started the step-by-step guide by installing Bazel 0.4.5. If you used the latest Bazel version from the start, you should just follow the guide steps. After you download and unzip Bazel 0.8 you have to go through the steps described in the section titled "3. Build Bazel" in the original step-by-step guide. and then proceed normally with the rest of the steps that come after.
@hummosa I've downloaded Bazel 0.8.0, it was installed successfully but further following the steps in the guide its showing me an error. Can you tell me the exact way in which you have installed. Help me outta this, its really urgent. my email Id : [email protected]
