Bukubrow has no icon!
It'd be cool if we had our own icon.
Would be doubly cool if there were light and dark variants so we could also support #99... :stuck_out_tongue:
I'm obvious no graphic artist, nor skilled in Gimp, but here are my 10 black & white ideas as inspiration for better:
These look really cool @E3D3!
I'd only say I wouldn't feel comfortable using the "buku" one as this project is distinct from it, I wouldn't want to step on their toes.
What do you think would look best? Biggest challenge is something that's still legible at a very small size.
I recognize your feeling about the "buku" one, even if Buku doesn't seem to need an icon. I think the third and second on the top row are the best at small sizes. Personally I like the third on the bottom row the most, because it combines 'db' with the link & book symbol. I think its better if the link symbol is a little smaller and with its little tail going up, to accent the hidden 'd'. (And if its is mirrored, then the link symbol also look like an 'S' on its side, your initial.)
If you like then I'll continue collecting some icon ideas, with more thoughs about small sizes and that the icon most of the time will be partly covered bij the "link-counter". Hopefully this counter is & stays on the same place in Firefox & Chromium ? Do you have favorite colors, wishes or other suggestions about the icon ?
I don't, only that ideally as you've already noted I believe it can support both light and dark themes. I agree, I think the one in the middle on the top row is my favourite.
Let me know if/when you're happy for one to be used for Bukubrow, I can put it in with credits in the README? :slightly_smiling_face:
The middle one in the top row orginally had a litte horizontal line to indicate the thickness of the book, simular to the icon below it.
You can do as you like with the icon ideas because I am very gratefull for and happy with Bukubrow, that I use almost every day (instead of online storage solutions).
