The selection disappears after applying formatting

Hello. Several years ago on the SMF forum I reported a bug in SCEditor - I originally thought it was caused by SMF 2.1, but it actually stems from SCEditor. Currently, I’m not even sure I can still call it a bug, since you may have designed the selection behavior that way. The text selection disappears after applying e.g. bold, which is frustrating- if I want to bold text, add color, and center it, I have to re-select it three times instead of applying all three formatting changes in one go.
