Ended up using updatecli which worked a bit better for me as it was declarative and supported GHE

+1 I agree with @cclauss. If it helps improve things, we might even want to catch that type error and add a helpful error message that points to the above...

@RealHarshThakur thanks for the RFC. Have you had a chance to look at https://github.com/buildpacks/rfcs/pull/195 which covers the cosign sbom format as well as storing sboms as attestations.
