[FEATURE REQUEST] Support of non-Debian based Linux distros

Distributing this as a deb package leaves out 2/3 of the Linux community. It would probably be better to have a more portable option (AppImage?). Alternatively, you might think about using the alien utility to convert the deb to rpm/tgz/etc.

Just a suggestion.
