[Help] Translators wanted.

Hello people.

In the same spirit as issue #143 we would like to see rmlint to get translated to more languages.

We have a small guide for translators here: http://rmlint.readthedocs.org/en/latest/translators.html

Currently we have these languages:

• de (by @sahib)
• fr (by @mentat-fr)
• es (by @albertnet)

Especially other widely spoken languages like ~~spanish~~, italian or russian would be nice. If you translate rmlint (praise may be with you) I might inform you on this issue if updates for the language are needed (for example when new strings were marked for translation).

I would love to be a tiny part of such awesome project! I can translate it into spanish, just let me know how, where, when and why everything since this would be a first for me. If you're interested just let me know! I also would like to mention that I find rmlint quite interesting and one of the most easiest installs ever (maybe Ubuntu is a bit clumsy and affects the GUI but I will make it work, tho). Thank you.

translating to spanish would be greatly appreciated. Basically the process of translation is filling out this template by translating the english msgid fields with spanish msgstr fields. We put a bit documentation together here.

For the ease of merging your changes, it would probably best to just fork rmlint by cklicking on the fork button in the upper right corner. Then you can just do git clone [email protected]:albertnet/rmlint.git and do the changes in your local copy. When you're done just push it back to GitHub and do a pull request.

You can actually do the editing in your web browser:

1. Fork rmlint by clicking the fork button
2. Navigate to https://github.com/albertnet/rmlint/tree/develop/po then click on "New File".
3. Set the filename (at the top) to es.po, then copy-paste from the template (https://github.com/albertnet/rmlint/blob/develop/po/rmlint.pot).
4. Add the spanish translations
5. Put an explanation in the commit message at the bottom, then commit changes.

Hi guys (@sahib & @SeeSpotRun), I need a bit of context, in: #: lib/formats/progressbar.c:104 msgid "other lint"

What is the idea of lint? Is it supposed to be lint as in "short, fine fibers that separate from the surface of cloth or yarn, especially during processing."? This is just to be as accurate as possible in the translation. Thank you.

Lint is jut the name for the sort of files rmlint gets rid of. So, yes, the definition you posted is correct. rmlint works like a vacuum cleaner for (file) lint. But feel free to give it another name in spanish, considering it is done consistently.

Note: I'm usually in #rmlint on irc.freenode.net when Im on the computer. This might be an easier platform for this kind of questions.

Just use an IRC client of your choice, there are webclients too: https://webchat.freenode.net/ Just pick a username and use #rmlint as channel and you're ready to go.

I pulled your changes; looks good to me - although I can't judge how exact the translation is. Thanks! A minor addition would be to add your name/email/etc in the relevant fields of es.po.

I'm quite satisfied myself with the translation and I tried to improve over different Spanish translations I've seen over the years, however, if a user complains I'm here to correct. I guess that's nice, adding my info, How can I do it? Thank you.

Easy, just navigate to es.po, click the edit symbol, make your changes, add a short commit message (eg "added email") then click commit.

Hello @albertnet and @mentat-fr! It would be very nice if you could update your respective translations. :+1: Some details changed since last time and need to be re-translated / some new strings were added. I will take care of the de translation myself.
