Well, aren't you already granting the user rights to join a meeting by providing a JWT in the first place? I don't understand your attack vector.
At a glance I'm not very convinced this is an improvement... If anything, it makes it easier to access the core, which is not something desirable, in general.

Some time has passed and I am currently happy with the current solution. We can always come back to this PR if we find a good reason to do that....
A fix for this is coming in SDK 10, to be released Soon (TM).
Did you start a recording on another endpoint in the meeting?
Can you reproduce this consistently?
I mean do you get the indicator every time you join a meeting?
