Store tweaks ideas
Some maybe due to a personal preference, but maybe some preferences are more "widespread":
- Change "Expert configuration" to "Customize".
- Get rid of the bottom buttons that repeat the header.
- Do not hide "the bottom explanations", show them at once for all options.
- If possible, make panels to be of the same size always and make "subsections" align with each other as well.
- Consider only increasing parameters from left to right, I dislike the decrease from 15 GB to 10 GB disk, especially since it costs almost nothing compared to the last preset overall price.
- Increase from 8 GB to 10 GB looks strange. I got that 16 GB is not a good idea, but maybe 12 GB is possible? Then we go 4 -> 8 -> 12. Also if 16 GB is not a good idea, we should not sell it at all...
- There is a footnote for "Run 10-20 Jupyter Notebooks at once¹" in the middle tab, but exactly the same footnote applies to all such comments, I would make it a global one and maybe just visible on hover.
- On the "Customize" page there are yellow banners suggesting using a compute server - they should NOT mention dedicated virtual machines!
- But they can appear for maxed out disk and "Always running" timeout.
- This is a serious revamp, but: how about we get rid of the top "summary with Add to Cart"? I find it strange to have it right away before even deciding on Business/Academic...
- Even further - I would prefer to have a "side box" showing current configuration/price, while there is no bottom summary and no sticky banner at the very top. Ideally there should be nothing to scroll on a sensible screen - just make a few choices (as few as possible!), see the resulting price, and buy it!
- To complete the dozen: have two buttons "Add to Cart" and "Buy Now" that shortcuts to the checkout, most of the time people are buying a single license/subscription, no need for extra steps with the cart.
