Opening Ditto makes any main window to lose focus

Open Kopilut opened this issue 8 months ago • 5 comments

When I open Ditto (Ctrl+~), it causes the main window to lose focus. This is particularly frustrating when renaming files in File Explorer or performing other tasks. As a result, Ditto becomes unusable for me.

Could someone please advise me on how to resolve this issue? I’d like to know if this is due to a misconfiguration on my part or a problem with the application itself.

I experience the same issue and it's very frustrating. I have tried to make appear "always on top" used windows power toys but nothing works. I'd really like it to behave like the windows clipboard manager, though it's inferior, it gets that one thing right.

I don't understand. If you open Ditto, it should have focus. If you ESC on Ditto, then the previous app regains focus. It works as expected.

I also don't understand. Could you clarify how you as a contributor expect user to rename something in e.g. File Explorer from clipboard history?

Move the clipboard entry to top in Ditto, then paste. That's how I would do it "as a contributor" - but it would work for anyone.

I tried to use mouse but that doesn't work for me. I guess that would be bearable to move wanted entry to the top before pasting, however, it still looks like a bad practice.
