Help pasting into Excel
After going a long time without it, I was so pleased yesterday that I was able to get Ditto to paste into Excel cells by double click or alt + enter when I needed plain text. I had to change the "Ignore Copies faster than (ms) default 500" and by setting it to 300, both the above methods worked and saved me so much time. Today, it stopped working and I haven't changed anything at all. I've tried adjusting that number high and low and there is no place where Ditto will work anymore. I can see the clip going into the Excel clipboard but it doesn't get from there into the cell. I also tried adjusting a lot of the other Advanced Options with timings without any luck but I don't know what they do so am taking stabs in the dark. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do to get Ditto to work again and why it might have stopped working without me making any changes?
Is there anything special with your Excel sheet? Does it act differently with an empty Excel sheet?
Try changing "Activate window delay..." in advanced settings. The bigger you make it you will see a delay after activating Excel and when we simulate pressing ctrl-v. See any difference? If you press ctrl-v after does it work.
The activate window delay never solved it for me. But it started working again with the Ignore Copies Faster set at 300 and changing the double shorcut keystroke timeout to 300. I am going by your screenshot that 350 is the default for the double shortcut since I don't know what default is and I changed a lot of the settings without saving the default. That would be helpful - show the default for every setting like you have done in some of them. Either way, it is working again and I have both settings at 300. Thank You
FYI - I found trying to paste too fast with a double-click on my clip can cause Ditto not to paste into Excel in my case. Slowing down how quickly I double-clicked has become a method to get it to work if it fails. Hopefully, that helps someone who comes along later with the same issue.
