bindtextdomain should never return error

after building libvirt, the python module fails to start because they check the return value of bindtextdomain and interrupt the python module initialization if it fails. a glance at glibc source seems to indicate that the glibc impl. never fails, and it's possible to pass pathnames containing of more than a single slash as second argument.
