Android app unusable due to lag and crashes

Describe the bug
When using the app, it lags considerably and eventually always crashes. This has been going on for at least a month. GitHub upload didn't work, so here is a youtube vid. https://youtu.be/VwxCLDXlgmo?feature=shared
To reproduce
- Open app
- Scroll -> lag
- Open note -> more lag
- Try using app -> crash

Your device (Google Pixel Tablet, codename tangorpro looks fairly recent, with 8 core CPU and 8 GB RAM (source: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/tangorpro/) which makes this a weird issue. Was it always like this? Can you try out a release from 0.24.* and report back?

This issue also affects me, using a Pixel Tablet running Graphene OS. I have confirmed its presence in the versions on both Google Play and F-Droid, and have attempted to lower Graphene's exploit protections in Settings. None of the above work, and a note that crashes is no longer openable afterwards.
I think this issue is either a peculiarity of how Pixel Tablets work, or of how Graphene works. I don't know enough about either to say.
If anyone wants me to do something to test, let me know.
