Hello, with we use Kodi with launcher4kodi, hyperion don't start because he need Explorer.exe for launch. Maybe It's possible you make HyperionScreenCapture on Service ?

I will look into service mode for future releases. In the meanwhile, can't you try starting it using Task Manager? Task manager can be launched using CTRL+ALT+DEL.

Gathering from the other issue on which you have commented, I think it is. Will try to fix that if it's possible.

Is there any update on this? It is a great tool, but I cannot really use it in my setup (with Launcher4Kodi being run as a shell instead of explorer.exe). Was meant to look for a way of running this as a service through an external app (I'm not sure if that's possible), but found this thread and learned that it wont work without explorer.exe running. PS. In fact it does run without explorer.exe through Task Manager, but for some reason it doesnt want to work correctly when started automatically. Investigating...

Can't you launch explorer.exe and then launch Kodi? You can still use some other app to set up auto login into windows.

Explorer.exe is a resource-consuming and completely unnecessary app on a machine which only runs Kodi and many people building HTPC platform just remove it. Besides consuming computer resources, it may be stealing window focus, can randomly make Kodi exit fullscreen during playback or show notifications on the top of the video, associates keypresses with different non-Kodi functionalities.
