Socks 71 error and unknown hidden service type on all sites

Hoping you might be able to help me here. I have installed onionscan but when running it on any onion site I am receiving the following messages through onionscan and my tor terminal window respectively. What am I doing wrong here (please let me know if you need any more info in order to be able to give some advice).

Onoinscan error ERROR: Unknown hidden service type: anonyradixhkgh5myfrkarggfnmdzzhhcgoy2v66uf7sml27to5n2tid.onion

Tor warning [warn] Socks version 71 not recognized. (This port is not an HTTP proxy; did you want to use HTTPTunnelPort?)
