Gated selections in scatterplot.

It would be nice to isolate hits on a scatter (or MA) plot using a sort of gating tool, similar to what you can do with FACS data. I'm imagining a drawing tool that you could use to highlight data points that cluster on the scatter plot, then export the data of those point only.

Would something like that be possible to inlcude in a future version?

This could be a farily simple extension of the current selections available in scatterplots. We could make it so that dragging beyond the plot boundary (ie in the axis) set up a selection in that axis, and that you could do this independently in both x and y. Will need to see how practical this would be.
