First: Cool idea !

As as feedback suggestion:What about enabling the user to display a picture related to actions, within the social publication ? In the case of a commit, it could be taken from the repo with a naming convention such as "social_commit_picture.png". I don't know if this logic can translate to other actions, my idea was actually targeted at commits.

For webprojects or game an automated screenshot could be generated, this is a chalenge for community, as I have other priorities.
