Error while attempting to install using pip

(Apologies for lack of detail, or user-error! I'm learning how to code and hoping to use exodata for a class project. Thought I would try to submit this as recommended, and in the hopes I can get it running for the project!)

When installing ('pip install exodata') on a Macbook Pro w/an M2 chip and Python 3.11.4, experienced:

error: subprocess-exited-with-error. python setup.py eg_info did not run successfully. exit code: 1 [1 lines of output] error in exodata setup comamnd: use_2to3 is invalid. [end of output]

note: This error originates from a subprocess, and is likely not a problem with pip. error: metadata-generation-failed
