Jupyterlab code formatter not working in Notebook Interface

Hello,

currently I'm using Notebook 7 with the Notebook Interface and the format button doesn't appear.

The formatting works fine if used from the menu -> edit -> Apply black formatter. It also works in jupyterlab (and I can see the button).

I'm using Jupyterlab 4.0.5 and Notebook 7.0.2

I experience the exact same issue. I have jupyterlab 4.4.2.
