Вouble bump when using an external Bluetooth keyboard
Will be awesome to connect the bluetooth remote and convert the Steam Deck to the portable TV box, but the keys trigger twice when I use the remote or the bluetooth keyboard. I guess it happens because of stem processing and the ATV processing the input, but will be good to find the way fix that.
I'm not able to replicate double input although I'm using a wireless 2.4GHz keyboard. Make sure keyboard is paired / plugged in first before starting waydroid.
This also happens for me if I am using steam input remapping for an external bluetooth controller. It seems like here's the deal: When I first launch waydroid (I'm using Android TV here) the controller is using the steam input and passing inputs through to waydroid, if any any point the controller turns off due to inactivity and turned back on, waydroid sees the controller and uses its inputs directly while also getting the steam input at the same time.
I think either a way needs to be determined to make sure Waydroid gets connected to the controller immediately so remapping isn't needed, or have a way to turn off Waydroid directly connecting to my controller at all so only Steam input is used. The latter is probably easier?
It looks like duplicate of https://github.com/ryanrudolfoba/SteamOS-Waydroid-Installer/issues/30. Solution described there - works for me https://github.com/ryanrudolfoba/SteamOS-Waydroid-Installer/issues/30#issuecomment-1936617802
If steam input is on at all for me, it doubles all the inputs. And what sucks too is if I turn off steam input and connect the controller by turning it off and back on after waydroid starts the only way to close out waydroid in game mode is to hit the steam button and go to exit game, but inputs keep going to waydroid in the background while you're browsing the steam menu. I'd rather disable waydroid picking up the controller at all and only use the steam input, for consistency with other games
It looks like this has been a known issue in waydroid itself for like three years, so probably nothing we can do about this until they finally fix it. It happens with both gamepads and keyboards if you reconnect them after waydroid is opened, since both the OS is sending input into waydroid and waydroid is reading inputs directly from any devices connected after it launches.
