Any interest in IPEDS?

A couple years ago, I went through a lot of pain to figure out the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) site. I don't quite remember how to go through it, but I need a refresher sometime this year. Would this be something valuable to get documented within the next week? It is by far the most challenging dataset I've personally had to deal with.

Yessssssssss. DO IT.

That would be wonderful. There are so many fascinating datasets out there that many of us don't even know about, much less have a handle on to the level required for analysis.

And you should totally come to the session and talk about it too.

Going to reference @myersjustinc in here, who mentioned during the SRCCON session that he's also started work on an IPEDS guide. Would be great to merge the two somehow. Co-authors?

oh yeah. he said he works with raw CSV data, while I've been dealing with the "compare institutions" report builder.

I'm starting work on a separate one (for now--always can edit them together later) in my fork.

I'm starting off with more info on what's collected and how the collection and release processes work, so people are more aware of what they're getting.

After that, I plan on adding info about working with the raw data.
