Stash bug - Active window changes when switching between 2 stashed windows

Demo: screen recording When switching between two or more stashed windows, the currently active window gets buried behind other windows - please see recording demonstrating how the calculator app is buried under the safari window when switching back and forth between two stashed windows. This bug occurs consistently and can be replicated on both my i3 and M2pro Macs. Would appreciate if this could be looked into :)
