Dragging window to top for full screen maximizes window past dock

  • [x] This is a new bug that hasn't been documented in a closed issue or in the Readme.

macOS version: 10.15.7 Rectangle version: 0.38 Logs if applicable (In Rectangle menu, hold option, "View Logging..."):

Dragging a window to the top of the screen maximizes the windows past the dock. This bug is remedied by hiding and un-hiding the dock. This bug happens again every time the Macbook is reconnected to an external monitor

This is a macOS bug, but it's been a long time since I looked into it. I'll keep this issue open until I can look into it again.

Divvy seems to be able to solve this by just having an optional setting to set actual margin values for between windows and screen edges, and then respecting those for all grid positions. (It doesn't really have a maximize separate from all rows/all columns.) I don't know if this would be workable for Rectangle as a workaround, but just thought it was worth mentioning since I came here looking for something on the same issue.
