Why try a lower version if developer will be able to fix it?

Because it may not be an issue with Extra Utilities. There are some known issues with versions of Forge just after 2531 that are causing stuff like what you are seeing. Testing with Forge 2531 will help determine if this is an issue with Forge or an issue with Extra Utilities.
