"Disconnected"

When attempting to connect to another player's game it just says "disconnected." From what I read this was supposedly solved after #763 . From what I read in #767 it's due to possibly too many mods, I'm currently running ~320. Was wondering if there's a fix for that or if it's not in consideration? I thought that I had roughly this many when I played with multiplayer in 1.5 and it worked, but maybe it was closer to 100.
