This seems to be an issue with how Rete.js detects single clicks (via proximity to the most recent `mousedown` event).
We could adapt [rete-drag-selection-plugin](https://github.com/damiano-sca/rete-selection-plugin) to work without holding the `ctrl` key after switching viewport translation to the right mouse button.
An alpha tester mentioned that pinch zooming would feel much more intuitive on Mac (compared to scroll-wheel zooming). Let's perhaps look into whether this would be feasible using `gesture` events....
