Feature request: show real name or company name
Hi, I want to request, that the connection window can show the real "Name", instead of the username of the controlled side, as well as the company name, instead of the id from the controlled side.
I will add an adavanced option for this.
Thank you!

It seems that this has always displayed the user name of the Windows computer, and there seems to be no change? The questioner and I, including most users who purchased Pro, should hope that the Rustdesk user login name will be displayed, so that it is easy to check who is connected. It is best to add a name column in front of the user's username and email address in the background user options, and it is best to synchronize with ldap. Display the name directly after connecting.
I'v trying diffrent version of display-name=Y / display-name=username etc but to no dice. the documentation only link to this thread but how do you config the advanced settings? when I connect to clients it displays my windows username which I would like to change. do you put the setting on a custom client that you are connecting to or your own custom client you use to connect out on?

Me too...
@rustdesk can you please give more insigth, on how to use this feature?
According to your settings, the person installing this client will display 'abc' when connecting to others. I have to admire you. Do you want the client to customize a separate client for each employee? What if we have 100 employees?
Our requirement is for the same client software, with the person connecting displaying the Rustdesk management backend and the user ID in the user interface.

Ideally, there should be an option to set a display name for each user in the RustDesk Console. This display name is then displayed instead of the user name in the RustDesk Console and RustDesk Client and on remote devices. It really makes no sense to build a separate client for each employee just to be able to display a different name. The user name is also not something that should be displayed for a customer. From the customer's point of view, this is not professional. The user name is necessary for logging in. The fact that the customer knows the user name would also be a security risk for the RustDesk Console.
why not use the username from oidc?
how can i set a nickname?
I am using RustDesk on my Mac, and when I connect to client devices, my Mac’s default name is displayed to the remote user. I would like to change this display name to something custom but I can’t find an option in the RustDesk interface or settings to edit my device name.
Is there a way to change the name that RustDesk shows to others when I connect from my Mac? If not, is this feature planned for a future update, or is there a recommended workaround?
Thank you for your help!

I would second this request.
