Just to know: Did "Automatically re-compile sources when template file is updated" feature remove since the 0.2 Sailfish version? I couldn't find it. And if yes, why was removed, and are any plans to come back?

That has been removed from README.md because the sentence is misleading. I used the expression to mean "cargo build command will re-compile sources after updating the template file", but it also might be interpreted as "sailfish will re-run cargo build command immediately after saving template file".

Just use cargo watch -w ./templates.
