MIT license does not include a copyright statement
Which makes the text "The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software." a bit weird. And thus it might be impossible to comply?
I am not an legal expert. And I don't like all the hoops I need to jump through to add copyright statements etc to comply. But I want to comply when using this in a product...
Most other projects start the license file with: something like "Copyright (c) 2015 The winapi-rs Developers"
IANAL & TINLA (I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice), but I am a corporate copyright and licensing facilitator. @hmvp has a point.
Ideally, the LICENSE-MIT file will begin with something like this:
Copyright 2017-2018 The failure Developers
Or
Copyright 2017-2018 withoutboats [email protected] and contributors
