Desktop app close and couldn't restart trying to train a model

Hi all! I don't know if it is the right place to report this issue.

When I was trying to "train" my own model, I had selected "caterpillars" to fine-tune a model. At one point, the platform shows me this manipulation tool:

I didn't know how to continue, I couldn't close that modal view (cancel or accept?)

So I supposed the best solution may be restart the app. I pressed alt+f4 and the software closed.

And now, I could't start it again. CLI shows this: image

System: Kernel: 4.15.0-96-generic x86_64 Distro: Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS Product: Aspire A515-51 CPU: Dual core Intel Core i5-7200U

Hi @JonathanLoscalzo, It seems like you are missing a lot of things from that screenshot!

What device and what OS are you using?

@cvalenzuela sorry, I just append it now

Thanks! Your systems requirements look ok.

It seems, from what I can tell, that Runway is somehow zoomed and you can't actually see the complete interface. That's interesting, I've never seen that before. Can you check what's the resolution of your device?

Sorry for the inconvenience, would love to figure out what's causing this!

yeah... could be that!

See system monitor

During the day I will restart the notebook and see if it continues happens It Could be an Ubuntu's issue...

I killed the process, and app starts again!

the issue continues, steps are:

  • open the app
  • go train model
  • select images and try to preprocess
  • close the app with alt+F4
  • try to open again [fail]
  • In system-monitor it continues running (?)

Hey there 👋,

I think I'm able to reproduce this issue (or at least something that looks just like it) on Ubuntu 18.04 by setting my resolution settings to a lower resolution than the full resolution supported by my monitor in Display settings. My 4K monitor is 3840x2160 (16:9) natively, and everything looks fine when its set at that resolution. But if I change the resolution to 2560x1440 (still 16:9) my Runway app overflows off the screen similarly to what you describe.

Can you check if your resolution is set to the maximum in Display settings?

Hi @brannondorsey

Yes, is set to max resolution.

But if I change the resolution to 2560x1440 (still 16:9) my Runway app overflows off the screen similarly to what you describe.

I don't think that it overflows from the screen, because if I press "alt+tab", it doesn't appear in this carrousel.

Or I think... It will appear in the second screen (move mouse wheel in "show applications" button) image. In my case, it doesn't appear in the other screen/desktop.
