Creation of sub-folder inside a recently created root folder doesn't work

Open runboxdave opened this issue 4 years ago • 6 comments

In the menu for each folder where you can rename or delete a folder, add an option to create a folder inside that folder. This would cut out the step of creating it at root level (which may not be possible if a folder of that name already exists) and instead create it directly under the selected folder.

OK. I see this is already possible if you highlight an existing folder and use the add folder feature at the top. However, this didn't work for an recently created root folder. Perhaps something needs to update in the index at some point before it works as a feature to add sub-folders?

Today's apparently a "I can't reproduce this" day... :)

What is happening when you're trying to do it and it doesn't work? Does still says "Create new folder under xxx" or "Create new root level folder" when that root folder is too new?

I couldn't reproduce this exact problem today, but there is another problem now. Issue to follow.

@davidbowdley This should be closed if it is not reproducible.

When I try to create a folder in a recently created folder (no matter the folder lvl) the new folder doesn't show until I refresh the page. It can make some users think that the new folder is not created. The dialog "Create new folder under..." shows the correct location.

There's also a second problem I noticed while testing it: After creating a new folder (doesn't matter where), I'm unable to expand or collapse other folders that have subfolders in them.

So it all looks like after creating a new folder, the whole folderlist freeze and doens't get updated.

Good find @kvviecien -- I can reproduce these issues as well.
