UK Court Decisions (Judgments) - Data, Analysis and Website

Open rufuspollock opened this issue 12 years ago • 3 comments

A huge amount of interesting litigation happens in the UK. As such UK court judgments include a lot of interesting information regarding companies, governments and others. Propose:

  • Archive of "data"
  • Analysis (e.g. entity identification)
  • Searchable and browsable in some form or other

Colophon

  • Originally in trello ~1y ago and previous to that in notebooks (+ discussion with heather brooke in 2009)

There is the work of @frabcus and colleagues in form of judgmental https://github.com/frabcus/judgmental http://judgmental.org.uk/. I initially tried using some of this code to scrape but could not identify relevant portions ...

Code development looks fairly halted (@frabcus is this correct? I note that @doubi (Ryan Jendoubi?) appears to have done some coding recently. I would like to get in contact ...)

The site has recently seen a take-down according to front page and all content has been pulled ...

Yeah, @doubi is the only person to have worked on it in the last year, it otherwise lost momentum.

Parts of the MoJ are considering work in this area too (following all the GDS stuff).
