Tranfering to local disk instead of remote (ssh)

Is there a way to transfer the back up snapshots to another locally connected media, instead of having to transfer via ssh?

I have just created a local ssh connection to the same machine to have that accomplished like the README instructs, but, besides being a lot more resource-hungry (network stack and all), I am still having issues with BTRFS, the Linux Kernel and my Laptop that will just crash the whole thing due to one of the processes halting the CPU (I suppose that's a kernel bug).

Sorry to come to this issue so late. No, there is no local-disk optimization at the moment, sorry. Feel free to add the feature...

@mpoli out of curiosity: which kernel release were you using? Is the problem still present with newer kernels?
