Cannot extract string from js sources

Hello with latest version 2.2.3, when running the extraction task for any js file I receive the following error and no pot file is created

[RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded]
>> Maximum call stack size exceeded

As a test case I used this sample file and also https://github.com/rubenv/angular-gettext-tools/blob/master/test/fixtures/catalog.js, same error

      return gettext('My string');

}]);

Node version: 4.4.7 grunt-cli v1.2.0 grunt v0.4.5

Any hint how to debug this further would be greetly appreciated
