SUGGESTION: Import and package working configurations from Lutris

Open darthcircuit opened this issue 2 years ago • 6 comments

I think it would be kind of handy to be able to utilize lutris to configure a game and make sure it's all working, and then just package it all up, prefix and all in gameimage. I'm not sure how feasible this is tho.

Hi @darthcircuit , thanks for the suggestion! This is feasible, I'll update you when the feature is implemented.

Is this feature still being considered? Despite it working well for the emulated systems and their respective games I've tested, I haven't been able to get many Linux-native and wine-based games working (smoothly) via the GI gui (and my lack of wine fine-tuning knowledge doesn't help either). However, many of these same Linux/wine games work well in Lutris out-of-the-box, perhaps with some minor finessing (such as turning one or two settings off, changing the activated executable file, etc.).

Hi @Tell-Sackett , thanks for reaching out. Yes, this will come as a menu entry in the wine configure frame, where you would select a game from lutris which would match the one you are currently installing, then gameimage handle the remainder of the configuration process.

@ruanformigoni Sounds awesome! Do you have an idea where this is in the pipeline? No rush or anything, just curious.

Thanks for the info!

No problem! I do not know that exactly at the moment. I have #53 #77 and changes in the flatimage repository to implement i.e., modular desktop integration (only file manager icon or only desktop entry), read-only mode to avoid cloud sync triggers. Then this is next.

Gotcha', thanks!
