Feature/android 8 - WIP

This is a WIP branch I made to get things working on Android Oreo.

It works enough to compile in the latest android sdk.

In the end I found out my phone already has merge contacts, so not sure I need this, pretty large chance I won't work on it further :(

Before merging:

• probably needs a bit of work around when permissions requested
• sqlite access should probably be moved into a ContentProvider (there's quite a bit of info on the web).
