Wider than Somfy RTS?
Describe you new feature you'd like
This project is really nice, but my only regret is that it is only driving Somfy RTS devices... Let me share my "home setup" using 433MHz:
- a pergola with awning driven by SomfyRTS (that's the first I tried to automate)
- a Nice gate using 433MHz with Nice FLO2RE rolling code system
- a Blyss doorbell, using 433.92MHz (DC8-UK-WH2)
I now have 3 devices and software to drive them:
- ESPSomfyRTS for the pergola
- Airsend (Devmel) for the gate, but compared to ESPSomfyRTS: ** it does not receive the other remote signal ** it does not manage the gate time to open/close etc. ** >> So in the end, it's not very reliable, and a bit risky for a gate
- As first two didn't manage to detect my doorbell, multiple failed/unreliable attempts with another ESP32/CC1101 dev board to listen the doorbell.
I'd obviously like to have only one. I feel that what ESPSomfyRTS is doing would be well suited for the 2 non Somfy-RTS devices. But it's potentially other protocols to add...
What do you think?
I really agree with your point. I also think this project is great – especially because it handles the Somfy RTS protocol so (!) well.
In my case, I also have a Nice doorlift, and additionally some Jarolift awnings I'd love to integrate. There’s actually a Python library available for Jarolift, which might be a good starting point for adding protocol support here.
...Maybe modular via external components or plugin-style architecture?
Would love to hear your thoughts, Markus
