Chat windows are all blank

Open jgabrielsen opened this issue 8 years ago • 3 comments

All of the chat windows are blank:

blank-chat

This persists even after reloading the app from the server, fully stopping and restarting the app, rebooting the computer, and uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

The app still detects new messages in a chat, and clicking on the chat name marks the chat read, but nothing ever appears in the chat pane. The chat settings also works.

Let me know if there is any other information that would be helpful to provide.

As of today, I'm having the same problem.

In case it's an isolated issue, I'm running macOS 10.12.4 beta, build 16E189a on a 5k iMac retina 2017 (R9 M390 and i5).

EDIT: The issue seems to have resolved itself same-day, at least for me. I'm unsure as to what the cause was, but it likely wasn't client-side.

Can't reproduce. Will leave it open for a short while to see if anyone else has these issues (and if someone does, if they can provide some information to what the actual issue is)

This seems stranger than the white screen issue we all saw a while back. As a side note, @rsms, I assume this is some kind of webview app, as it uses the web version of messenger, so is there a way you can have a debug button/setting where we can open up the javascript console? That way we can relay any error messages found back to you. I can put this in a new ticket as a suggestion.

Update: New ticket: https://github.com/rsms/fb-mac-messenger/issues/391
