Unable to open preference pane

Open tgrrr opened this issue 7 years ago • 10 comments

Hi, big fan.

I'm not able to open the preference pane on Mac Sierra 10.12.2

Messenger 0.1.10.1479230589

Tested reloading from server.

This means I can't turn off the beeps for new messages.

Cheers,

Phil

Hello,

I have the same problem, I'm on macOS Sierra 10.12.2 and Messenger 0.1.10.

Thanks!

+1 - there's no way of muting preferences, so I have to stop using this app until this gets resolved.

I found a temporary fix:

Control Panel > notifications > messenger

Play sound for notifications.

I'm glad to see this issue was reopened. While you can indeed mute notification sound in the Notifications settings, there's still a Preferences menu item in the app itself that appears to not do anything. It should either launch a window, or be removed from the app if it's pointless.

Pretty tired of updating this app every time Facebook rearranges messenger.com

The solution here should be to remove the nice (but problematic) preferences and have the "gear" icon of messenger.com shown.

:(
