Recessed(?) stem?

I have I Logitech K835 TKL and it has soem recessed stems.

I guessed I can use inset(val=xy) but that cuts down the whole key? Maybe I just use it wrongly?

I also have this issue where making the stem inset positive cuts down the bottom of the whole key. I'm using OpenSCAD 2023.02.15.
