Save image as svg/png with no background

Hi, Bandage 0.8.1. GUI on windows 10. When I save a graph image as .svg or .png, it is created with a white background. I can remove the background layer (eg with Inkscape), but would it be possible to make the default to save the vector without a backgrund? This makes it easier to produce nice tables of images or use a different background colour than white for presentations ect.
