New Views - "Poster" Aspect Ratio issues.
On some of the new views, like "Series" or, Watchlist, you're using a different aspect ratio for the content thumbnails. The actual aspect ratio is a nice switch up, but the implementation is somewhat confusing visually. Currently, the regular, typically 'wide' thumbnail is used, and the scaling mode applied ends up stretching / distorting the image. I see two ways to rectify this, either switch the scaling mode to a crop and rely on users to provide a dual use image that will crop correctly, or have a key in the feed for within each content item like, posterThumbnail that can use a different uri.
Am I just missing something?
Another small observation: on Watchlist, the 'title' of content isn't used below the content image, it's utilizing the description for the content. Not sure if that's intentional.
I can drop some screenshots to your email if needed.
The use of the short description was intentional.
I'll look into the video issue.
I'm going to change the wizard to support the three posterDisplayMode options for the Watchlist thumbnails. You will have the ability to specify:
noScalescaleToFitscaleToFillscaleToZoom

This sounds like a nice low friction approach.
Any interest in adding support for optionally utilizing an alternative image uri for these aspect ratios, and falling back to the existing default thumb if it's not present? I have unique artwork assets for different aspect ratios, having said that I'm not sure how broad the appeal would be for this.
See discussion #149. It's in the works...
Legit. Thanks :) Any timeline or whatever on that one? Would you like to shift discussion of this to over there?
The multistep feed loading would be excellent (if your feed/feeds are served dynamically, or you generate static ones). I'm not really sure how it would impact search, presumably you're stuck loading all feeds up front then?
Yes, move to discussion. No timeline as yet.
Resolved in version 1.0.1.3.
