Swipe Out triggered by scrolling near edge

Swipe out gestures are being triggered on my iPad 4 by any motion close to the screen edge. Is it possible to make the sensitivity configurable either like the swipe in gestures or (better IMO) with a way to specify the threshold(s) directly like in the hidden Lock Slider settings panel? I'd like to be able to require the gesture to be at least X% of the screen dimension or to distinguish short swipes from long swipes.
