[Request] Allow custom rest duration per-profile
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I love being able to customize the short rest and long rest options. Since I use a short rest is 10 mins and long rest is 6 hours custom rule where hit dice need to be rolled to recover etc and even on a long rest you only get back like half spell slots and half features etc. But I am missing an option to as DM prompt (since there most likely won't be a button for it) the players to take a FULL Rest. A customizable rest that recharges all features and spell slots and hit dice and hp to full. Like when the party has extensive downtime or takes at least 24 hours of rest etc. Could that be added?
Describe the solution you'd like Adding a third fully customizable rest option, maybe only promtable by the DM via the UI that can be used to simulate a total full rest long recovery period. Full Rest Downtime Rest etc.
Describe alternatives you've considered Currently, my players whenever i tell them they get downtime and or atleast a full 24 hour rest period, they need to do the full rest 2-3 times given the rounding down of certain features and the settings i have only granting half recharges of features on long rests. a bit anything. Would be nicer if i could for these occasions just hit a button and everyone would get the resting window to pop up with a full recharge.
Additional context similar to the Full Rest recovery rules of "The Dungeon Coach" been using these for years on all my tables, and it promotes players to actually rp downtimes more often and seek not just rushing from dungeon to dungeon. and this module is nearly perfect for implementing them into the vtt.
I think what I would recommend is to create a new preset which has the recovery you desire on long rest (i.e. full everything). Then when you go to prompt a rest, change the preset in the dropdown to that one (and ensure you change it back afterwards). I’m not immediately sure whether custom rest duration is synced to rest profile - I think it's not, in which case you'd have to handle additional time passing manually. I think I’ll consider moving long/short rest duration into rest profiles, so you'd be able to specify a profile with full recovery and a 24hr rest.
Ye that could work to. thx for considering it. I am a person who likes things convenient, since I am very forgetful sometimes. so i like having easy to use buttons or things that prompt ui stuff. Maybe if you could add the option to set a profile to be the default via settings (so it automatically changes back to the default one) would also be cool. since some people (me) will forget to reset the rest option after doing that ^^
