These characters are not needed except for academic use.

@sergiolmartins do you have any input on this? I'm inclined to follow the user reported suggestion; maybe the two digraphs (U+30FF for Katakana and U+309F for Hiragana) could be included in auxiliary, but the small version Katakana seem "orthographically" not needed.

Thanks for filing this issue! I don’t understand much about Japanese, but I am glad to find more info here. I was surprised to see a font fill out the GlyphsApp "Kana" category, but seem to fail the Hyperglot check.

I'm inclined to follow the user reported suggestion; maybe the two digraphs (U+30FF for Katakana and U+309F for Hiragana) could be included in auxiliary, but the small version Katakana seem "orthographically" not needed.

I think this should be implemented for the next release; we can further refine down the road with more input, but right now the requirements don't follow the hyperglot credo of requiring a good and certain minimum charset.
